Fangirls. This book is hands down one of the absolute best sex books out there. A good friend of mine lent it to me about two weeks ago, and it has wonderfully consumed me. It’s so beyond being just a sexuality text book. It’s a guide, a reference, and all around just fun to read. It’s realistic, informative, and positive. Its easily one of the best books ever to have come my way.
The best part, it was given to my friend in school. To know that courses are using this incredible manual to teach students about sexuality brings me an profound sense of joy. I just want people to be educated & safe, Fangirls. This book is the perfect way for that to happen. It’s got so much information, it makes it so easy to learn about all aspects of sexuality, and all the stuff that happens within it.
This things has entire chapters on lube, power play, fantasies, and sexual self-image. This stuff isn’t just mentioned hither thither, they go in depth. They really teaching you about this stuff, showing what’s all about, how it works, and how it can be better improved in your own life. This book allows you to learn about a bunch of stuff, but also think about what it means to you and your sexuality. Just the tone alone that this book is written in is unf.
The women who wrote this book take a wonderfully easy going approach to all these topics. It just feels more open, more real. It certainly doesn’t feel like you’re reading a text book. These women also admit to their own biases, and suggest that you take that into consideration, just as they do. They talk about how where they grew up & how they’ve lived impact their view on sexuality, just as it does for all of us. The realness of this book is unmatched.
They teach and talk about some incredible important stuff. Protection, communication, things like that. But they also talk a great deal about different sorts of things that are equally as important. Things like body image, depression, disability, and gender. When looking at sex in a text book sort of light, these things are often not discussed enough, or are over looked all together. This guide kicks that out the window and addresses the things people really should be hearing.
And that people want to be hearing. This book is also jam packed with tips & instructionals. People can always use a little sexy time advice, and my heart swoons over the fact that this book has a chapter titled “Creative Touching”.
I don’t think you need any convincing, Fangirls. This book is incredible. Go get it now. Study up, talk about it all with your friends, enjoy. It’s a must have in the home of any sex positive human.
